Viani - Colombia

Apple Tart / Sugar Cane / Cranberry
Vianí enjoys a favourable geographical location for growing coffee. Warm thermals, a temperate climate and cool nights mean excellent growing conditions for most agricultural production, especially coffee cherries, avocado and plantain. Coffee is collected from three stations, but around 70% comes via Mr Joseel Castiblanco’s station.
When the parchment is delivered it will be hand checked for quality. Cherry is either processed on the farm or can be brought in wet if the quality is right and then dried in a guardiola on site.
Once a good volume has been collected (between 10,000 and 13,000kg) a truck takes the load to Bogotá and Racafe’s dry mill there. Here extra sorting and two levels of cupping occur, before bagging and export.
Joseel has been collecting and selling his coffee to Racafe for over 20 years. He only sells to them. His truck driver is the only one he uses too and has been working with them for just as long.
We are happy to present this classic regional Colombian coffee; with notes of sweet caramelised apple tart, sugar cane and a very delicate hint of cranberry.
