Nestled in the central-western part of Colombia is Tolima, a region rich with mountains, rivers and volcanic soil. Grown in the Planadas area of Tolima at altitudes of 1400 to 2000 metres above sea level, this coffee has benefitted from ideal conditions for cultivating high-quality coffee. Coffee cultivated here tends to develop a complex acidity due to the extended ripening process of the cherry. In this coffee, you can discover this through juicy notes of pear and bright notes of candied orange peel.

This particular lot of coffee is the work of 50 producers living in the towns of San Juan de la China, Anzoátegui, and Santa Isabel. They are supported by Cafisur, a cooperative representing producers from the Tolima coffee-growing region, who have been working for the past sixty years to fill gaps in the coffee value chain. Cafisur provides its producers with agricultural, educational and financial support as well as opportunities for equitable prices. We are fortunate to have sourced this coffee with the help of Primavera Green Coffee, who we have worked with for over a decade.

This coffee has undergone a washed process, which lends clarity in the final cup. The result is a delicate balance of sweetness and pleasant acidity. A buttery mouthfeel and caramel-like undertones bring out notes of nut brittle, which complement the coffee’s bright character. This coffee is ideal for those seeking a well-balanced cup with a smooth finish.
