Gaia H10 - Costa Rica (Special Reserve)
Lychee / Rum & Raisin / Dark Chocolate
Introducing our Special Reserve range is Gaia H10.
Gaia H10 comes from Naranjo, Costa Rica, it is a first-generation (F1) hybrid variety originating from a cross between rust-resistant T5296 and Ethiopian landrace Rume Sudan. Its a natural process full of highly complex and intense tasting notes.
Expect vibrant tropical sips of lychee, deep sweet spiced flavours reminiscent of rum & raisin ice cream and rich but yet subtle finish of dark chocolate that will leave you craving more!
The H10 hybrid coffee variety is known for its resilience and productivity, making it popular in recent years among coffee growers, it's durability and adaptability make it an excellent choice for sustainable coffee farming.
The coffee cherry is floated in a fermentation tank to remove any defective cherry. The cherry is then fermented for 12-16 hours after flotation. This kickstarts the natural fermentation process.
After resting the coffee is moved to parabolic drying areas and placed on raised tables. After two weeks of drying the coffee is moved to low-temperature mechanical driers. These complete the drying process in a temperature-controlled environment.
