Our signature espresso changes course from our more classic Espresso Blend, with our latest release showcasing a naturally processed Brazilian coffee with heaps of fruit-forward sweetness and a weighty body. Brewed black, it’s bright and syrupy, with ripe stone fruit sweetness that reminds us of mango sorbet. Paired with milk, it softens into something more creamy and dessert-like, with notes of vanilla and custard creams.
Producer
Bela Vista Farm was established in 1981 by Paulo Enidio Crabi in Elói Mendes, Minas Gerais. In 2015, the farm achieved UTZ certification, recognising its commitment to sustainable farming practices, traceability, environmental conservation, and fair working conditions. To support healthy crop growth, the farm uses a fertigation system, where fertiliser is delivered through irrigation water directly to the roots of the plants. This is paired with an automated irrigation system that uses satellite data to monitor climate and temperature, allowing water use to be carefully controlled and reduced.
Process
The cherries are fermented in a sealed hopper, covered to limit oxygen exposure and create a pressurised environment which helps enhance the coffee’s natural sweetness and fruit-forward character. After fermentation, they are laid out on patios to dry with the fruit intact. This combination of restricted-oxygen fermentation and traditional dry processing contributes to its jammy fruit notes. Once the cherries have reached 10.5–11% moisture over several weeks, they are hulled to remove the dried fruit from the beans.
