For the second offering in our special reserve line we are very excited to bring you a microlot of natural processed Gesha produced by Jairo Arcila. Jairo along with his family are known for their meticulous farming methods that has made them one of the pioneers in coffee production in Colombia; all of this reflects in what is a truly exceptional coffee.
This lot was hand picked in order to select only the ripest of cherries, then hand sorted to remove any defects. It was then moved onto raised beds as it sundried in temperature controlled conditions until ideal moisture content was achieved.
Gesha or Geisha is a varietal that was first discovered in Abyssinia, Ethiopia in 1931 and planted in Panama for the first time in 1963 and then Colombia in 2005. It tends to yield more desirable crops at higher altitudes producing delicate floral, jasmine and peach-like aromas and as so is highly sought after.
The coffee has sweet notes of blackcurrant, a tartness of a rhubarb crumble and a soft jasmine tea like finish. We hope you enjoy every sip as much as we do!
